Arabian Books - Arabian Sands - Thesiger
Sir Wilfred Thesiger was born in a mud hut on the compound of the British Legation in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, where his father was British minister. On his return to England he was educated at Eton and Oxford. He was knighted in 1995.
It is almost impossible to think of Arabian Books without mentioning the Arabian Sands by Thesiger.

Thesiger fell in love with the desert. In his book, The Life of My Choice, he wrote: ''I was exhilarated by the sense of space, the silence.

I love this book which covers Wilfred Thesiger's time crossing the Abu Dhabi Sands. Beautifully illustrated with black and white photographs. Crossing the Sands will always have a place on my book shelf.

Glimpse into Thesiger's remarkable life. My Life and Travels is a compilation of some of Thesiger's finest writing taken from his published works. Excellent black and white photographs illustrate throughout.

Thesigers time in southern Iraq is detailed in The Marsh Arabs.
