Abu Dhabi Taxis
There are a number of Limousine Standard Taxi services operating in Abu Dhabi, which you can call to book and can often be found outside the front of the major hotels. These are two of the most popular Abu Dhabi Taxis:

These cabs are *efficient well maintained and driven by courteous Drivers with a good knowledge of the City.
(*recently we have noticed these companies are getting busier...so it may be as well to book your cab a little ahead of when you actually need it?
If you are staying in a hotel then you could ask your Hotel Receptionist to call a cab for you. You may pay a little extra (normally a fixed amount per hour rather than per journey), but with busy traffic and hard to find parking spots taxis are getting harder to secure.

If you are wondering what happened to the 'local' gold and cream taxis that used to weave around the city, you will be pleased to know that these are now being replaced by 'Silver' Taxis.

If you are travelling between Emirates then check first with your driver. Certain legal restrictions may apply that a Taxi is only allowed to drive in the Emirate in which their licence plate is issued or to another Emirate. Therefore although an Abu Dhabi licensed cab could take you to a neighbouring Emirate (example Dubai) it would not be possible for the same car to wait and take you back even though this may be the cheaper option. As all reservations can easily be made by your hotel this shouldn't be too much of a headache for you.
