Recently extended Marina Mall offers shoppers a tax free air-conditioned shopping haven. The mall is aesthetically pleasing with its tented effect roof and indoor fountains.

Carpet souks
There are some fabulous carpets (rugs) to be found in Abu Dhabi. Due to the intense summer heat you will find that souks tend to be indoor in older style malls. Don't be put off by these older style malls, just appreciate the air-conditioning!

One of the best places to browse carpets is at the small shopping mall opposite the Abu Dhabi Mall. The souk has an interesting string of small outlets and you will be able to browse without being too pressured to buy. Abu Dhabi hotels and The Club Abu Dhabi often have carpet promotions and will advertise these around the City. Remember to barter!
